| The Procurement Service Celebrates Its 30th Year Anniversary |

The Procurement Service celebrated its 30th year anniversary with a bang with a week-long celebration from October 13-17, 2008. The anniversary celebration kicked off with a parade participated in by the PS officials and employees, members and officials of the Inter-Agency Bids and Awards Committee (IABAC), the PS Resident Ombudsman and Auditor and representatives from Brgy. Cristobal in Paco, Manila Activities for the event included a photo exhibit by Usec. Mario L. Relampagos, free ECG (for PS employees), tiangge and sports tournament which included a volleyball (exhibition match only) basketball, badminton and dart. The (PhilGEPS) conducted a free training for suppliers while the GPPB – TSO conducted a free training on R.A.9184. A “bingo for a cause” was also part of the activities with proceeds given to selected PS employees who are in need of immediate medical attention PS also had a way of sharing to the community the blessings that they received for the past thirty years by way of conducting a medical mission to the indigents in Brgy. Cristobal in Paco, Manila. The anniversary was concluded with a program held at the Palacio de Maynila in Malate, Manila. The program started with a thanksgiving mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Benjo Ledesma. Former ministers and secretaries of DBM were also present in attendance. DBM secretary Rolando G. Andaya, Jr. was present to grace the said event. He was the one who presented the lifetime achievement award to Exec. Dir. Estanislao C. Granados, Jr. for being the head of the sole arm of procurement in the Philippine bureaucracy for the past 30 yrs of operations of PS. Partner suppliers and agencies were also given recognition for there continuous support to PS. Other people that were given One of the special awards given was the plaque of recognition given to PS employees who served PS for 30 years. The event ended with an anniversary toast and countdown to October 18, 2008, the anniversary date of PS which fell on a Saturday to officially celebrate the 30 years of PS. |
