The Procurement Service (PS) opens its regional sub-depot on November 10, 2008 in Borongan, Eastern Samar under the leadership of Gov. Ben P. Evardone. It is the 6th regional sub-depot to open within the year and the first to open in the Visayas region. PS has previously opened five (5) regional sub-depots in the provinces of Surigao del Norte, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Bontoc, Mt. Province, and in Puerto Princesa City. The opening of PS regional sub-depots is in partnership with the PS, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Regional Office concerned and the Provincial/City government. It is consistent with the expansion program of PS with the goal of opening depots in island provinces/cities all over the Philippines. More sub-depots are expected to open soon, these are in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Quezon, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Marinduque and Ormoc City. |
