Indonesian government officials have been visiting the Philippines since March 2010 to observe and benchmark the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) and to study the possibility of operating a central procurement system similar to the Procurement Service model.

Emilia T. Boncodin, former Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management died on March 15, 2010 after a battle with kidney disease. She was 55 years old. The Procurement Service and the PhilGEPS mourn the passing away of a staunch advocate of reforms in government procurement. |

The PhilGEPS Workshop on Planned New Features and Functionalities |

The government continues to enhance technologically based processes to improve the procurement chain of government agencies. The Procurement Service and PhilGEPS, together with its institutional partners, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, conducted a workshop on the planned new features and functionalities that will be implemented for the Philippines’ only centralized government electronic procurement portal. Ayala Systems Technology, Inc., being the developer of the system, was likewise present at the workshop. The activity was held from December 2 to 4, 2009 at the Days Hotel at Tagaytay City.
